Good Deeds Day 2018
At this family-friendly program, we’ll learn about ways to help asylum seekers currently receiving support from HIAS and pack baby kits for these families in the Washington area in need. We’ll also discuss the D.C. Jewish community’s tradition of social advocacy and assistance. In partnership with the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, DC Minyan, HIAS, and the Edlavitch DCJCC.
ABOUT HIAS: HIAS is a global nonprofit that provides humanitarian aid and assistance to refugees and asylum seekers. Guided by our Jewish values and history, we bring more than 130 years of expertise to our work with refugees. In greater Washington DC, HIAS provides legal representation to 150 asylum seekers and vulnerable immigrants. We work to ensure successful integration and emotional healing, providing holistic services to individuals fearful of returning to their countries.
