Isaac Franck

Isaac Franck

Isaac Franck was born in Russia and came to the United States as a teenager. After heading Jewish Community Councils in two other cities, he served as executive director of the Jewish Community Council of Greater Washington (1949-1973). One of his staff members, Samuel Sislen, recalled that Franck was “highly regarded by academic and civic communities [and] uniquely equipped to funnel information from and about Jews in the USSR to various audiences – the American Jewish community, to Israeli leaders, to American public officials, to religious leaders.” Franck died in 1985.
