Steamer Trunk, 1940
Polish immigrants Fela and Siegfried Pollner escaped from Nazi Europe in February, 1940. Sailing from Belgium to Argentina, they carried the family’s belongs in this steamer trunk. Their son, Marco, arrived in the United States in 1947 and worked for the United Nations before moving to Washington.
