Celebrate 350 Medal, 2004
Created for the 350th anniversary of Jewish life in the United States, this medal includes an excerpt from President George Washington’s letter to the Hebrew Congregation in Newport, Rhode Island. In the 1790 letter, Washington described the United States government, “which to bigotry gives no sanction, to persecution no assistance….”
