2004: The Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington hosted the annual JCC Maccabi Games. At this Olympic style event, over 1,600 Jewish teen athletes from across the United States and seven other countries participated in sporting competitions including swimming, soccer, and tennis.

2005: Four hundred singers from more than 25 area synagogues commemorated the 350th anniversary of Jewish life in America at a concert at the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, Maryland.
